Description

Oceania ACES - a Community on Ecosystem Services - held in Christchurch, New Zealand on 2-6 September 2019

Participants from Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific Islands attended this event to explore new ways and the latest knowledge about the benefits that nature provides to people (ecosystem services) and how we can reflect this knowledge in our daily decisions and from local, regional actions to national policy and international policy.

Indigenous and local knowledge on ecosystem services and their contribution to wellbeing or good quality of life, e.g. reconnecting people to nature, reconnecting to Papatūānuku, regenerative agriculture and regenerative food systems, was one of the key topics discussed.
