International Forest Biosecurity Conference | 9th Pacific Rim Bio-Based Composites Symposium

March 16-20, 2009
Rotorua, New Zealand
Exploring the latest thinking on Forest Biosecurity: from protecting our borders to managing insect pests, weeds and diseases established in forests.
The International Forest Biosecurity conference will provide a unique opportunity to bring forest biosecurity issues (science, practice and policy) into global focus. The term “biosecurity” refers to the exclusion, eradication, or effective management of pests to protect the diverse benefits gained from forests.
Hosted by Scion, the conference will provide a forum for researchers from around the world to share knowledge, create networks and promote international actions.
The conference will incorporate working parties of IUFRO Division 1 (Silviculture), Division 7 (Forest Health) and Division 8 (Environment).
