Carbohydrate and Lignin Analysis

Veritec offers a highly specialised extractives, carbohydrate and lignin testing service that is unique to the laboratory. Carbohydrate and lignin levels are important in various wood manufacturing processes such as papermaking.

Veritec can determine extractive, carbohydrate and lignin levels in wood and pulp products which allows manufacturers to tailor their processes and work more efficiently.

Extractives are removed prior to lignin and carbohydrate analysis. Lignin tests are performed colourmetrically, while carbohydrate levels are analysed using anion chromatography and detected by pulsed amphoteric detection.
