Bioenergy Bioenergy can come in a variety of forms (solid, liquid or gas) which can be used to create heat, electricity and transport fuel. These reports include the Bioenergy Options for New Zealand series, encompassing liquid biofuels, woody biomass resources and energy systems analysis.
 
Environmental Technologies Water recycling, energy reduction, environmental remediation, carbon recovery, and waste conversion to minimise ecosystem contamination. These reports describe the TERAX process, including waste water treatment/remediation and adding value to solid waste.
 
Sustainable Forest Management Our research and development services extend across the forestry value chain from seed to sawmill. These publications cover the planting, silviculture, management, harvesting and wood quality of radiata pine and many other exotic and native forestry species.
 
Forest Biosecurity Scion is the leading institution on forest biosecurity and risk management and mitigation. These reports focus on the exclusion, eradication and effective management of risks to forests and trees posed by insect pests, pathogens and invasive weeds.
 
Rural Fire Research Over the past 20 years we have developed a range of tools, guidelines and case studies from rural fires. These reports are now widely used in fire fighter and community safety.
 
Trade and Economic Development Our trade and economic focus is on forecasting and analysing the impacts of global policy on forest product markets, trade and carbon risk. These reports cover industry-wide and economic issues.
 
Human Factors More than a decade of research has been spent on of research in injury prevention and improved productivity in agriculture, meat processing, wood processing, forestry, construction and manufacturing. This series of reports summarises that research.
