Science in the Park (12 March 2011)
A Science and Forestry photography competition was open to BOP students in years 7 to 10, and years 11 to 13. We received great entries in both Science and Forestry categories, which were on display at Science in the Park. Photography winners were announced on 12 March 2011, and can be viewed online here.
For the little scientists, there were a variety of fun, interactive and educational activities such as making paper, 'what plant is that?', build-a-bug, and tearing into rotten logs. You could also find out what rockets and icecream have in common. Book winners from the Science Trail activities are listed here.
Science projects were on display across Scion's diverse research themes, and there were chances to ask scientists directly how this research can benefit you and your community.
Check out the competition results (Science and Forestry student images, and Science Trail activities) and watch out for more ways that Scion engages with both science and general communities.
