Oceania ACES - a Community on Ecosystem Services
Christchurch, New Zealand: 2-6 September 2019
Join participants from Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific Islands to explore new ways and the latest knowledge about the benefits that nature provides to people (ecosystem services) and how we can reflect this knowledge in our daily decisions and from local, regional actions to national policy and international policy.
Opportunities to participate are endless, from oral presentations, workshops, to field trips or free community events. Discounted registration is available for iwi, kaitiaki, community/grassroots, local NGOs and tertiary students as well.
Indigenous and local knowledge on ecosystem services and their contribution to wellbeing or good quality of life, e.g. reconnecting people to nature, reconnecting to Papatūānuku, regenerative agriculture and regenerative food systems, are one of the key topics to be discussed.
The call for proposals for oral presentations, workshops, side events, etc. is open. The first round is due this Wednesday 3 April 2019. Send a paragraph with your ideas on what you would like to do, what type of activity, and if a workshop, for how long approximately.
See the program page for a list of potential activities and full list of topics: https://oceaniaesforum.com/2019-program. If you need more time or prefer to wait for the second round, please email the forum at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Looking forward to meeting you in September.
