Wildfire Seminar Series - In 2022, Scion, now part of the Bioeconomy Science Institute Maiangi Taiao, hosted a webinar series to connect end users and share wildfire research insights. Wildfire YouTube Channel - This channel highlights the Bioeconomy Science Institute's Rural Fire Research group's research into rural fires, including improving understanding of how wildfires ignite and spread, and development of new tools and technologies for managing them.

The Science Learning Hub shows information and video clips of the Bioeconomy Science Institute's Fire and Atmospheric Sciences Team project staff discussing rural fire topics and other information related to Institute wildfire research, including:

Students

If you are a student with an interest in rural fire research or management, the Bioeconomy Science Institute offers opportunities for projects from Honours to PhD level. Project options cover a range of disciplines (fire science, vegetation/fuels modelling, weather and climatic impacts on fire, fire economics, firefighter/human factors, social research). In some instances, scholarship funding may be available.
