Scion is pleased to announce Shontelle Bishara (Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Kahungunu, Rongomaiwahine) has been appointed Te Toihau Māori – General Manager Māori Futures.

Shontelle has acted in an interim capacity as General Manager Te Ao Māori since June this year. She first joined Scion in April 2021 as the Research Group Leader of the Te Ao Māori team.

Shontelle brings a wealth of experience working in the public sector at both central and regional levels, as well as extensive experience working with whānau, hapū, iwi, Māori businesses and Māori entities to advance Māori aspirations.
