At Scion, which is now part of the Bioeconomy Science Institute, we’ve long been using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for forestry research and monitoring, mapping and data capture – among other things.
This year marks 10 years of using these tools, which add value to our research and our ability to support the wider forestry industry.
There are plenty of opportunities to further apply UAV tools to our work.
Our autonomous systems team is dedicated to maximising these opportunities and helping other organisations also put UAVs to good use, to improve forest management processes.
